The Black Mirrors
The post-apocalyptic story of The Black Mirrors directed by Katharina Schmitt deals with some basic themes from the literary original: the loneliness of human perception, love, longing for human closeness and, at the same time, the inability to bear it. The protagonist has survived the Third World War and he has not met another human being for six years. He rambles through the countryside and visits ruins of the destroyed civilization. When he starts to build his own house, he meets a woman, Líza. The possibility of a new start of the two last people on the planet is, however, unclear: We are not sure if Líza is a real woman or an embodied wish of the lonely individual.
