Þóranna Dögg Björnsdóttir

Thoranna Björnsdóttir is sound and visual artist based in Reykjavík. She studied music from an early age and graduated as a classical pianist. Then she immediately turned to the field of contemporary sound and art. A graduate of the Royal Academy of art in the Hague Thoranna has worked as a video and performance artist in the electroacoustic field; working with different medium she realizes her work through film, performances and installations. Her works are experiments in capturing sound and sound spaces which she encounters every day. She uses recorded sounds and made sounds in combination with a more classical approach in creating her very own soundscape.
