STAGE READING IN THE SMALL HALL OF THE TRADE FAIR PALACE
Adaptation and Stage Direction: Jan Horák and Michal Pěchouček
Artistic collaboration: Michal Mariánek
Cast: Jiří Štrébl
The production is a part of the dramaturgy line reacting to the main exhibitions of the National Gallery in the Trade Fair Palace. It reacts to the exhibition ‘The Story of the Trade Fair Palace’ and it is inspired by an advertisement by the architect Jaromír Krejcar for the USSR Pavilion at the world’s fair in 1928. In the context of the symbols of this object, three letters of Jaromír Krejcar to Roman Jacobson about the anxiety, emigration and moral status of a human being in a critical situation send out a stark warning. Regarding the form, the production is a stylized stage reading notable for its particular artistic style. The project is a coproduction of Studio Hrdinů and the Department of the Accompanying Programme of the National Gallery.
