Christoph Wirth
Christoph Wirth works as dramatic adviser, musician and director. During his university studies of philosophy, literature and theatre studies he did dramaturgy and direction assistences for Laurent Chétouane, René Pollesch, Münchner Kammerspiele and Staatstheater Weimar. Since 2007 he is working as freelance dramaturg, director, composer and musician for Laurent Chétouane, Johannes Schmit und Martin Laberenz. 2008 – 2012 he was host dramaturg and artistic collaborator at Skala, Centraltheater Leipzig and parallel he works in the performing arts scene with Internil (Berlin,Leipzig/De), INSTITUTET (Malmö/SE) and IRMAR (Dijon/FR). His performative and musical works have been presented internationally, e.g. at Lofft Leipzig (DE),Schlosstheater Schönbrunn Vienna (AU), Festival d´Actoral, Marseille (FR), Sophiensäale Berlin(DE),Ball- haus Ost Berlin (DE), Südpol Luzern (SE), INKONST Malmö, Teater Nordkraft Aalborg (D) and Damansara Performing Arts Center Kuala Lumpur (Mal) amongst others. In his latest performative works he focuses on the framework of the performance – event itself,examining the very contextual and socio- political conditions which produce it. His works try to short- circuit different artistic strategies moving between conceptual and body- based approaches, applying sound – and installation art to performative practice.
